The Northern Lakes Fire Protection District is proud to partner with the Kootenai County EMS System (KCEMSS) to provide ambulance and medical transport services to the citizens of our fire district. Because of a successful and long-standing relationship with the county system, we are able to provide advanced life-support services 24/7 to our constituency from two strategic locations; one from our station in Hayden and the other from our station in Rathdrum.
We strive to continue service improvement to our communities on a daily basis. Today's paramedics bring impressive skills and specialized diagnostic and treatment equipment to emergency medical calls to better assess and treat illnesses and injuries. Under the guidance of a physician, our paramedics serve in difficult and challenging circumstances having a positive impact on lives every single day while responding to 3,448 EMS calls in 2018.
Please contact me with any questions or concerns by calling our offices in Hayden or by clicking on my photo for email.

NLFPD Paramedics (Advanced Life Support Providers) also provide ALS services on an as-needed basis to the communities of Athol, Bayview, Spirit Lake, and Blanchard. They work in conjunction with our partner agencies of Timberlake Fire Protection District and Spirit Lake Fire Protection District to make sure that all citizens of the northern county have access to top-notch services from consummate professionals.
Emergency medical calls make up nearly 70% of the district's call volume, ranging from medical and trauma to rescue emergencies. NLFPD members are regularly recognized for their community contributions to life-saving efforts. See the pictures below.
