PUBLIC EDUCATION

Larson Chris.jpg

One of the most vital functions of our Fire Prevention Bureau is educating citizens and business owners/workers on fire danger and ways to prevent fire from occurring. Under the coordination of the Fire Prevention Bureau, District staff provide numerous public service programs and information including:  Fire Safety Presentations to schools, civic groups, and other organizations.; Fire Extinguisher Training sessions conducted at schools and local businesses upon request; answer your questions on smoke and carbon monoxide detectors including what kind you should purchase, where to place them and how often the battery needs to be replaced

Every October is Fire Prevention Month and our firefighters and fire prevention staff visit all the elementary schools in our district with a fire safety message. We concentrate on those ages identified as most at risk for playing with fire: Kindergarten, 2nd and 5th grade.

To schedule a program or for questions on fire safety and prevention, please contact me at 208-772-5711 during business hours or email me at CLarson@northernlakesfire.com.
